I enjoyed this book thoroughly, although I am not sure that most teens would. Jay is constantly spouting '80s and '90s pop culture references that would be lost on most contemporary teens. Even the chapter headings are twists on actual song titles, most of which are from neither this decade nor the last two. Jay's constant cleverness and wordplay, while amusing, was a bit much at times and took more concentration than usual. In fact, I kept getting "bumped" out of the story because I kept thinking, "nobody under 20 would get that." I'm not too sure that the majority of today's teens would stick very long with Jay and his quirkiness.
