The baseball bat on the front cover should have been my first clue, but since the subtitle is A Novel of Love, Mary Poppins, and Fenway Park, for some reason I assumed that this was a “girl” book. Boy, was I wrong! It’s not a “girl” or a “guy” book, but a book for everyone. It’s funny, touching, thought-provoking, and smart. I loved this book. It’s a little on the long side (403 pages) but well worth it. Truly. Don’t take my word for it. Read it yourselves!
Highly recommended for grades 9-12.
