For a book about someone who’s depressed, this novel isn’t at all depressing. It’s life affirming and it’s got a powerful message of hope in discovering who you are and what you are meant to do. For many high school students, Craig’s story is probably not all that unfamiliar. It’s a stressful, messed up world out there, and sometimes escaping into alternate worlds with drugs seems to be the answer. It wasn’t for Craig, however, and he got the help he needed in order to get his life back on track.
Highly recommended for grades 9-12.
