Secrets. How far will people go to keep theirs? In Alice Marshall, a school for girls, everyone has her own story and everyone has secrets. Each girl has been sent there for a reason. Lida is unwilling to share why she was sent there. She meets Boone, who makes her feel at home, and Gia, who pretends to be her best friend but then backstabs her once she finds out Lida's secret. When the lines become blurred between secrets and lies, friends and enemies, betrayal and trust, where do you go from there?
This book dragged on interminably. The ending was amazing, but three quarters of the book was unnecessary. The background information was useful, but the extra details only served to make it longer.
I would recommend this book to people in gr. 9-12 who are willing to slog through the majority of the book in order to experience the climactic ending.
