And what a story! This is an amazing psychological thriller that highlights the way a person’s mind can manipulate reality and alter perceptions. It’s been a year since Justin’s little brother, Mark, accidentally shot himself while they were playing around. Justin is hearing a voice in his head that is causing him to relive the day over and over and over again. Each time he relives it, however, the details change and readers are left wondering which version of the story is closer to the truth. All is revealed at the end, and we are left with hope for Justin and his ability to move past the tragic event.
Highly recommended for grades 9-12.
