Shelby Jayne has had a tough childhood. Her mother left her when she was little and Shelby has lived with her dad and her grandma Phoebe ever since. Shelby has a lot of hatred towards her mother for leaving them. When her dad has to go to another country to work, he can’t leave Shelby with grandma Phoebe because she’s in the hospital, so he drops Shelby off at her mom’s house. It’s awkward for Shelby since she hasn’t seen her mother in years. Shelby has a hard time fitting in at school until she meets a girl named Gwen whose family also left her. When Shelby finds mysterious notes in the blue bottle tree, only her mother can help her unravel the mystery of it. Will Shelby be able to ask her mother in time and get over her hatred before she risks her life?
I loved this book! It was slow at first because it was introducing the plot, but after that the story truly becomes amazing. I would definitely recommend it.
