Sports injuries are becoming a hot topic in schools these days. Concussion training is mandatory among coaches, players, and teachers, and awareness among parents is on the rise. In spite of this rising awareness, however, there was a lot of information in this book with which I was completely unfamiliar. The section on Brain Injuries and Collision Sports was particularly illuminating, and made me glad that none of my children ever played football, soccer, or hockey. In fact, if this book were required reading among parent groups, I am sure that more parents would refuse to let their children play contact sports.
Recommended for recreation purposes as well as for research for students in grades 7-12.
