In spite of a predictable plot and stereotypical one-dimensional characters, I mostly enjoyed this book—until the end. Why? There is no end! Obviously I need to read the sequels if I want to find out whether Nola and Marnie are able to patch up their friendship; if Dane is truly as shallow as he seems to be or if he really does like Marnie; if Matt is going to dump his long-distance girlfriend and turn his friendship with Nola into something more; if Lizette is simply using Marnie…I could go on.
Recommended for grades 7-10...but know that you’ll need to read the sequels to get any sense of closure.
