Clementine Williams is a teenager left with a broken heart at the end of her sophomore year of high school. She fell for her best friend’s boyfriend and is now left without her best friend or any of her other friends. When her parents plan to spend a summer together on their boat with Clementine and her sister, Olive, she agrees to go just to get away from the drama. At one of the stops, Clementine meets James, an always-smiling redhead with a fun personality. James and his dad are also spending the summer together sailing. As the families get closer to each other and secrets come out, Clementine realizes that things happen for a reason and that sometimes changes can be good.
Unbreak My Heart is the most down-to-earth book I’ve read in almost forever. Sometimes Clementine was a little too depressed and self-absorbed, but James was a great character. He helped Clem with her problems even though he had his own past to deal with. This book takes the topic of cheating and the trouble it causes and creates a story that is easy to read and leaves you wanting to read it again. I highly recommend this book for people who are looking for a good story.
