You know that a book is good when the first thing you want to do upon finishing it is to read everything else that the author has written. That was the case with after the kiss. Narrated beautifully by both Becca and Camille in two different styles (Becca = free verse poetry; Camille = lower case stream of consciousness entries) with homage paid to various poets, I couldn’t get over how absolutely three-dimensional the characters felt to me. The emotions were raw and real, and the dialogue (even the texts and phone conversations) was 100% believable. I was drawn in from the moment I picked up this book to the very last page.
Highly recommended for gr. 9-12.
