When Greg and Rowley, Greg’s best friend, have a fight about who’s selfish and who isn’t, they decide not to be friends again, but with school starting back in a couple of days, Greg doesn’t want to be that kid who walks into school without a friend. So, Greg goes up to Rowley’s house to make him apologize for calling him selfish, but when he gets there he sees Rowley with this guy, whose name is apparently Brian and looks like he’s in college. So, he just decides to go home.
On Greg’s way home, Greg sees a van with a picture of Brian on it. Above the picture there are some words. They say ‘COOL BRIAN, Wholesome mentors for growing boys. 555-6739.’ Greg is now angry because Rowley’s parents are paying and hiring some guy to be Rowley's role model. Greg has been doing that for a long time without pay! So to make Rowley jealous he puts some fake pictures of him on the internet. The pictures show him with a bunch of older kids. He also went to this overnight at the school to show that he was cool enough to hang out with girls. The only thing was, only like five girls came and there were like 17 boys.
What Greg did wasn’t worth it because with some events Rowley and Greg become friends again at the end of the book anyway.
My favorite part in this book was all of it. The book was funny, interesting, and fun!
I would recommend this book to people who like comedy, the author Jeff Kenney, comics, and the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.
