Storyteller is about a boy named Jack. He lived in the village of Yarrow. He loved to tell stories to make his family feel better because he lived in a poor family. He would tell them stories about fish falling in love with a bird, magical baskets that filled with food, the woman of the woods, etc.
After his 17th birthday, Jack decided to go to the royal city and leave his humble village to tell his stories. On his first day in the royal city, a melancholy king named Alphonse hired him to be one of the king’s artists. Jack met the beautiful princess Stelinda, and they fell in love. After the king agreed to let them marry, he passed away. Being the true heir to the throne, Stelinda got herself ready to take the crown and become queen.
Because she was interested in the arts, however, the youngest brother Yoss, took the throne from his sister. He passed a law that commoners and royalty could not marry, so Jack and Stelinda could never be together. Soon the couple found a way to overthrow king Yoss. You will have to read the book to find out what happened to all of them.
In this book the characters seem to come to life. Storyteller is a great book to read. I recommend it to people who like fantasy, because some things in Storyteller are something you may fanaticize about, such as talking birds and fish princesses. My favorite part is the end, but it’s way too revealing to tell you.
